Join the Constitution Day Community Reading Every House, Every Ballot Our right to vote is our right to shape our society, to care for our neighbors, and to claim our human dignity. With all the uncertainty about voting this year, faith communities have an important role in encouraging and equipping their members to use that right. At First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Seattle (FAME), Desley Brooks--a former elected official--has designed a program called Every Household Every Ballot. Desley notes that in Washington thousands of people receive ballots who never return them. FAME's goal is to do their part to [...]

Even as the August primary ballots are being counted, FAN is looking towards November, where three critical initiatives will be on the ballot. I-001 and I-638 would harm vulnerable children, and I-645 would strip funding from our schools and communities. Last month, Faith Action Network's board voted to endorse the opposition campaigns for all three initiatives. We will continue to share information and updates on the three initiatives at fanwa.org/initiatives. Read on to learn more about the initiatives as well as our upcoming FAN workshop, Engaging Our Faith Communities for Free & Democratic Elections , Tuesday, August 11th (6:30-8 pm) [...]

A Special Message from Our Executive Director Dear Friend, You have more power than you know — and this is the year to use it. At Faith Action Network, we've seen what happens when people of faith and conscience raise their voices together: legislators listen, policies change, and our neighbors' lives improve. Behind every housing bill passed, every family protected, every community strengthened, there are people like you who decided the common good was worth fighting for. For the past 15 years, this is the work FAN has done. Just recently, we invited multi-faith clergy and people of faith to [...]
