A Word of Support from Faith Action Network and an invitation to our Annual Dinner

2024-12-20T12:38:26-08:00

A Response to the Election Results from FAN’s new Executive Director Dear FAN, Now more than ever, we must stand together, work together, resist together, and in our own ways and practices, pray together. Love must win. Today is my fourth day as the new Executive Director of FAN. All day long, yesterday, I kept hearing a phrase from the book of Esther in the Jewish scriptures, “for such a time as this.” This phrase reminds me of how Esther led the resistance against the empire. Dear FAN, we are here and brought together for exact times like the one [...]

Faith, Labor and Building Our Statewide Connections

2025-01-09T14:02:51-08:00

FAN Opposes all four initiatives! Our Board voted to oppose the newest initiative on the November ballot, I-2066, concerning "regulating energy services, including natural gas and electrification." The effect of this initiative would be to protect natural gas, which is 90% methane, among energy sources and fuel types. It would delay the transition toward a cleaner and more efficient energy infrastructure needed to meet our state's climate goals. And it would burden low-income households without disposable income to buy solar panels, heat pumps and electric cars with an energy source that is associated with lung and cardiovascular health problems. We are recommending a [...]

Help protect the progress we've made together. Learn more below! Vote NO on I-2109, I-2117, and I-2124! Our recommendation to Vote NO on all three initiatives is grounded in our values, which include: Belonging, Justice & Equity, Interconnectedness, Collaboration, and Pluralism. These emerge from the heart of our diverse spiritual traditions, texts, and practices that call us to love and care for our neighbors and the earth. Join us in voting NO on these three harmful initiatives this fall and stay [...]
