2013 – “Beyond Violence: A Time for Peace”
On Sunday, December 8, 2013, Faith Action Network hosted our annual fundraising dinner at Temple De Hirsch Sinai on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. We were pleased to announce our theme, Beyond Violence: A Time for Peace. We were also excited to announce keynote speaker Nick Hanauer – philanthropist and co‐founder of Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility – who joined faith leaders and advocates from across the state celebrating FAN’s work toward a just, compassionate, and sustainable world. We also awarded the following:
- Justice Award to Dustin Washington to honor his work with youth of all colors to end racism.
- Advocating Faith Leader and Faith Community Award to Rev. Jan Bolerjack & Riverton Park United Methodist Church for their efforts to achieve income inequality in the city of SeaTac.
- Interfaith Award to Rabbi Anson Laytner for his many years of bringing people of all faiths together to promote the common good.
As Faith Action Network strategizes for the start of the 2014 Washington State legislative session, we need your help to build a strong voice, fighting on behalf of the values of inclusion, compassion, and justice. We pledge to bring power to the issues, to educate on the roots of injustice, and to teach how to advocate for change, as together we take courageous public action and empower prophetic witness.
Thank you to everyone who helped us reach max capacity for our Annual Awards Dinner.
