Thank you for contributing to Faith Action Network’s blog! We’re excited to share the wisdom and perspectives of those engaged in our network, and to delve deeper into the spiritual and religious foundations of our work in the interfaith community and in Washington.

We invite you to write a blog post about how your theology, faith, practices, or traditions shape how you see and do advocacy. How does your faith guide your social conscience?

You might want to be specific, highlighting the ways your faith compels you to act on a specific issue (for inspiration, check out FAN’s key issues on our Legislative Agenda). Or, you might want to write about how a specific tenet of your faith or a certain tradition offers you an impetus to be publicly engaged.

  • Please limit to 500-1000 words
  • Stories are great, as are specific descriptions of rituals or practices in your faith tradition
  • We can consider any pictures to complement your post
  • Let us know if you’d like to link to other websites, articles, posts, etc.
  • Please cite your sources

Our goal is to highlight and celebrate the diversity of our network, so we encourage you to embrace your experiences and perspectives in your writing. At the same time, we do ask that you keep our statewide, interfaith audience in mind. For example, please:

  • Remember that many FAN advocates live outside the Seattle area.
  • Use terms like “faith communities” instead of “church” or “congregation” when referring to communities that may be of multiple or different faiths.
  • Please use gender-inclusive language, such as “humanity” instead of “mankind.”
  • We will edit with [brackets] where language is not considered inclusive.
  • Additionally, we are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, so our communications must also remain non-partisan.

Please email your text to fan@fanwa.org.with:

  • your completed, well-edited blog post, 500-1000 words in length
  • any pictures or links you’d like included
  • a short 1-2 sentence bio

If we choose to publish your post, we will edit for length and format, and contact you for your approval if any major edits need to be made. We will prepare it to be posted along with your bio, pictures, and this short disclaimer:
