State Funding for Student Financial Aid, Colleges & Universities
October 20 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Mark your calendars for October 20th at 7:30 PM!
In partnership with Communities for Our Colleges, the Washington Student Association, the College Success Foundation, Washington Bus, Seattle Colleges, and the University of Washington, Representative Frank Chopp of the 43rd Legislative District will convene an online forum focused on addressing issues surrounding state funding for student financial aid, colleges, and universities.
This one-hour event will be an opportunity to listen and participate in discussions with panelists on how our legislature can prepare to pass policies and investments to provide substantial financial support and stability for students, colleges, and universities. In other words, how can we improve the financial accessibility of our state’s college system – especially for those in need?
The Workforce Education Investment Act of 2019 provides free college tuition for roughly 120,000 students in Washington state. Representative Chopp and his allies are eager to expand on that work, especially as we prioritize paths forward on equitably recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The forum will be composed of students, educational leaders, and policy leaders. Time will also be dedicated to Q&A from the audience.
Thank you and see you on the 20th at 7:30 PM!
