Seattle Advocacy Workshop

September 9 @ 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM

In the next year, Congress will face tough votes that could change the direction of our country. You can hold your members of Congress accountable.

You’re invited to a workshop with the Friends Committee on National Legislation to learn critical advocacy skills and meet a community of advocates ready to stand alongside you for peace and justice.

Talking to Congress gets results — and it’s one of the best ways to influence the systems and policies that shape our country. When the Congressional Management Foundation surveyed hundreds of Congressional staff members, they found that in-person meetings with your members of Congress are the most effective way to influence policy decisions.

  • Join a national network while building a community locally
  • Hone effective advocacy tools
  • Learn how to build power to make change in Washington
  • Join the 2017 Advocacy Teams campaign to realign our government’s spending with our priorities

Prevent drastic increases in Pentagon spending that would come at the expense of our communities
