“Faithful in the World: Speaking up for Future Generations,” Answering the Call: Faithful Service to a Livable Earth

May 7, 2017 @ 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Abby Brockway and Michael Foster explore varied shades of climate activism: from lobbying and petitioning to filing lawsuits and direct action. Abby, a member of Faith and Action Climate Team (FACT), was part of the Delta 5 group that blocked oil trains in Everett. Michael has built a corps of youthful “climate ambassadors” who speak publicly, plant trees, and are suing Washington state to maintain a livable world. Michael also is a “valve turner” who shut off the flow of tar-sands oil through a pipeline from Canada.

Seattle First Baptist Church, 1111 Harvard Ave., Seattle 98122. Events and parking are free. Sponsored by Seattle First Baptist Church and Interfaith Climate Action – First Hill, a collaboration between Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue and Seattle First Baptist Church.
